10 Years and Counting…An Anniversary Editorial
FEATURING THE PHOTOGRAPHY OF TRISHA SHELLEY
We love when married couples dress up in wedding day attire for their anniversary photos. It brings back the romance and memories of their wedding day and it gives them a unique way to be the “Bride and Groom” all over again. That’s why we swooned over this gorgeous shoot of Cameron and Marquette Mower – A beautiful couple sharing their love for each other on a special day with photographer Trisha Shelley.
From Trisha: “Ten years of marriage is a beautiful thing to celebrate, and all they wanted for each other was a photo session that would capture this special moment, and create photographic heirlooms for future generations.”
Marquette says, “Even though this wasn’t a real wedding I wanted everything to have a special meaning. I decided to incorporate the “Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue” poem as a way to get intentional with what I was bringing and wearing.”
Well, we think you did a FABULOUS job Marquette! Everything from the dress, to those fabulous shoes and the magnificent handmade bouquet — was extraordinary! BRAVO!
We’ve decided to let Marquette tell us her story in her own words…
Something old: My Black Hills Gold necklace Cameron bought for me on our Honeymoon.
Something new: My original wedding dress wouldn’t fit (2 kids and a ton of cookies will do that to a girl!), so I spent HOURS online looking for just the right dress. I wanted to feel elegant and classy…and eventually found this beauty.
Something borrowed: Lipstick from Emilee (My makeup artist, cousin, and best friend)
Something blue: “My tanzanite wedding ring. It’s chipped now and Cameron offered to get me a new one, but I won’t hear of it. This is MY wedding ring. It may be flawed, but it’s the perfect representation of our marriage. It’s not perfect. It’s not pristine, but it’s beautiful. It’s weathered all sorts of experiences. It’s hung on through ups and downs. That’s why I think it’s beautiful, and will wear it always, just the way it is.”-
Our Song: The Lover’s Waltz by Jay Ungar. It took us a few years to pick out “our song”, but as soon as we heard this song we knew it was perfect. There are no lyrics, but the music helps us to express to each other how we feel…and it’s perfect because we love to waltz!
The location: The Henry’s Fork. It is Cameron’s Dad’s favorite place in Rexburg, Idaho, and his family has been working here for generations. His Grandpa was was also from this area, so it’s a special place for the entire family.
Here’s to many more romantic years together Cameron & Marquette! We adore your photos, and your love story!
