Simply Married – An Elegant Denver Elopement
“At the end of the day, whether the time is now with no planning, or several months from now with meticulous planning, the goal, purpose and greatest joy of a wedding is to simply get married.” – Katie O. Selvidge
Our mission at So Dearly Beloved is to publish authentic love stories, whether they be real weddings, or fictional accounts that evoke emotions of ethereal romance. We endeavor to capture each couple’s unique path to the alter – what we refer to as their wedding “footprint” – their personal journey of love. To that end, it is an honor to publish galleries like this one, captured so eloquently by fine art wedding photographer Sarah Porter, which focuses entirely on what really matters during a wedding celebration – the bridal couple, and their desire to express their love for one another, and celebrate quietly together in their own comportment of wedded bliss.
Sarah explains – “The ability to hold what’s most valued closely, and to create a memory that will forever be etched in your heart, is where the inspiration for this idea and collaboration came from. This shoot is for couples who want to craft a quiet moment wherein they exchange their vows free from all the added details that seem to be more steeped in tradition than intrinsic value.”
Inspired by the vintage romantic ambiance of yesteryear weddings, floral designer Tammy Herreid of Acscents Florals, designed an oversized cascading fresh flower bouquet brimming with fresh Feather and Silver Dollar Eucalyptus (greens), off-white Moonstone Garden Roses, blush pink Spray Roses, white Queen Anne’s Lace, Nigella “Love In The Mist” (light blue/white), and burgundy Ranunculus and sweetly accented with dusty blue and light pink hand-dyed silk ribbons.
Details we love about Sarah’s editorial: The grand and spacious setting of Cheesman Park, the Bride’s stunning dress and luscious bouquet, and of course, the champagne…we <heart> champagne!
“Cheesman Park, with its stately pillars and elegant setting, provides ample elopement weekend adventures” – Sarah Porter
“The oversized vintage cascade bouquet and boutonniere echo the weddings of long ago but were designed with an ethereal quality for a modern, city-chic couple. ” – Floral designer Tammy Herreid
“We’re beginning to see a shift in society which advocates the mantra of “less is more”. The value of slowing down and creating moments, instead of a showcase, is starting to find its place in the world. As a wedding photographer it brings solace to my heart to see unpretentious moments created.” – Sarah Porter
We hope we have inspired you to place your love for each other above all the usual pomp and circumstance that accompanies today’s wedding celebrations. Spending your wedding day alone with your one true love can be the most romantic thing in the entire world. After all, isn’t that the whole point of getting married in the first place?
